New York Ife

Susie and I hosted my family this past weekend. It was a whirlwind two-and-a-half days. There was a baseball game (lawn seats for the Greenville Drive blow), a movie (Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull = meh), early birthday presents (Mario Kart Wii, music, toys. Yay!) and lots of food. Plus, we made sure that everyone (save Susie) got the mandatory South Carolina sunburn.

Now that we’re all “grown-up,” getting my parents, brother and sister in one place is becoming a once- or twice-a-year thing. And as such a hair over two days together is not near enough time.

I accomplished much over the Bachelor Weekend™, if watching several episodes of Mystery Science Theatre 3000, eating white cheddar popcorn, playing Wii until the muscles of my body were reduced to a quivering gelatinous state unable and unwilling to follow my command and then topping it all off with Raiders of the Lost Ark can be seen as an accomplishment. I think we all agree that it can.

If you took any of that seriously, one of us needs to have their sarcasm checked. Ultimately the weekend did not live up to expectations. It all became a bit tiresome.
