Monthly Archives: October 2007

2007 Jack-o-Lanterns

A little roundup. I’ve updated my Flickr account with some new images.

The month of October and all it’s various activities, boiled down to 18 images.

We go back to the beginning of the month and our trip to Kentucky and Cincinnati, Ohio. We were in the car probably 16 hours over 2 and a half days. Awesome.

Our weekend excursion to the local apple orchard, Niven’s Apple Farm comes next. Cute little place, packed on the first comfortable fall day with young kids. (Delicious apples, by the way.)

Susie’s birthday weekend blowout and our hike up Table Rock follows. The cool thing about that trail is that some part of it crosses state borderlines into North Carolina. We didn’t see any signs, so I’m not sure if we made it or not. Still kind of cool to consider walking through the woods and ending up in another state.

Wrapped it all up with the pumpkin carvings for 2007.

So you think you can dance Tour 2007

One of our favorite summertime television series has been “So You Think You Can Dance” (curiously question mark free). After this season concluded, the top 10 finalists (plus 4 alternates) set out on a US tour. Tuesday night they came to Greenville.

As part of Susie’s birthday (more on that soon) I had wanted to get tickets. The prices, though, were a little steeper than we could manage. However, fortune stepped in. My employer has tickets to an executive suite at the BI-LO Center. Tickets which are offered up to the employees. I almost missed out, having taken a day off for Susie’s birthday and only by sheer dumb luck did I manage to grab two tickets for the show.

They performed all of the fan favorite routines from this past season (the Dueling Princes, Angel and Devil, the Vagabonds, Hummingbird and Flower). Susie was literally vibrating with excitement. She was on the edge of her seat for most of the night and had to stop clapping at one point for fear of hurting her hands.

It was a very good show.
