Monthly Archives: January 2007

At Susie’s suggestion, we’ve begun watching the Star Wars films in sequence. We started on Saturday with “Episode 1″ and have slowly worked our way from there.

The idea came up when I received the “classic” trilogy DVD set for Christmas, “Let’s watch them, 1 through 6, and see if they make any kind of sense.” Not that we expect there to be any magic cohesiveness when viewed in order. I could go on and on about the inconsistencies, the poor direction, the glitz over substance, but I think that’s ground all-to-well covered.

I’m no prequel apologist (they have serious flaws [and in no way is Episode 2 a "good" movie]) but I’m not as vehement in my dislike as some people. My love for Star Wars is still strong, even after the disappointing Prequel Trilogy.

I can still sit back and watch. And imagine how it could have played out.

Allow me to get meta for a moment.

Astute readers may notice that I’ve added a new list of links in the sidebar — I’ve decided to start sharing some of my del.icio.us bookmarks. I first began using del.icio.us in 2004, but didn’t keep up with it. Last week I started bringing my bookmarks up-to-date; somewhat for my convenience (keeping tabs on links across three computers) as well as for sharing interesting finds.

Keep an eye on the sidebar to see my 5 most recent bookmark entries, or click the title “from del.icio.us” to access my entire collection.

I’m also thinking about adding a “photography” page to the site. Stay tuned.
