It started with the kitchen decorations and took off from there—a flurry of undecorating, packing and trying to figure out just what the heck went in the place before we put up the Christmas stuff. Surprisingly, it was relatively painless and didn’t seem to take too long; either because we don’t have as many decorations as I thought, or we’re really talented at packing things up.

One package arrived safely. But no word on the second, until we find a package pickup slip in the mailbox. Apparently the second box was too big for the mailman to deliver. I drive to the post office with slip in hand, wait patiently while the postal worker goes into the back to find our package. 10 minutes later, he comes out with nothing. They can’t find the package. (Wait, what?) We live 20 minutes from the post office, so the round trip and waiting time make this an hour long disappointment. Ultimately they find the package intact and Christmas is saved. No word as to what caused the mysterious disappearance. Read More »
